For The Land
Creating pathways, purpose, and opportunity through sustainable agriculture.
Growing People. Growing Careers. Growing Community.
Work For The Land is the workforce development branch of CARE_FTL.
We create hands-on learning experiences that help people gain practical skills in controlled-environment agriculture (CEA), a fast-growing industry shaping the future of food.
Our programs support young adults exploring career options, individuals re-entering the workforce, and community members seeking stable, meaningful work connected to the land and their community.
We believe everyone deserves a real pathway, not just a job, but a chance to grow.

Why Controlled-Environment Agriculture Matters
Agriculture is changing faster than ever, and communities who prepare now will thrive.
The global CEA industry was valued at $104 billion in 2025
It is projected to reach over $420 billion by 2035
Water shortages, heat impacts, and farmland loss are accelerating demand for indoor growing
CEA provides year-round jobs, technical skill pathways, and sustainable local food systems
Work For The Land helps communities prepare for this shift — so the future of farming includes everyone.
Our Workforce Programs
Hands-On CEA Skills Training
Participants learn the foundations of controlled-environment agriculture: system operations, vertical farming, aeroponics, seed-to-harvest crop cycles, food safety, and environmental monitoring.
Our training focuses on real systems, real produce, and real job skills.
Youth & Young Adult Pathways
Many young adults finish high school unsure of their next step.
We offer a guided pathway into a high-growth field, combining hands-on learning with career readiness and the opportunity to earn certifications recognized across the emerging CEA industry.
Re-Entry Skill Building & Second-Chance Programs
We collaborate with re-entry programs and correctional institutions to bring sustainable agriculture training to people returning home.
Participants gain practical skills that support stability, confidence, and successful re-integration.
In-Facility CEA Education
CARE_FTL can implement fully operational CEA systems inside correctional facilities, allowing participants to grow produce that supports their own institutions or local partners.
This creates purpose, nutrition, and real-world skill development where it is needed most.
Community Workforce Partnerships
We partner with nonprofits, local agencies, and employers to create green-job pathways, align training with real workforce needs, and strengthen regional food systems.
Our Impact
Through Work For The Land, we help communities:
Develop practical agricultural and environmental skills
Build pathways to stable jobs in a growing sector
Support young adults with meaningful career exploration
Equip returning citizens with skills that restore confidence and opportunity
Strengthen local food systems through trained local growers
Create long-term resilience rooted in community connection
We are building a network of growers who care about the land, the food, and the communities they serve.
